Fr. Tony Gavin RIP

The death has occured of Fr. Tony Gavin. Fr. Tony was born on 16 September 1958 and was originally from Cabra in Dublin.

He had a late vocation and had a career as a credit controller and later general manager of the General Distributors Comany in the city suburb prior to his decision to enter priesthood.

He was ordained to the priesthood on 8th September, 2002 in the Church of St. Peter and St. Paul, Dunboyne. He served as Curate in the parish of Dunboyne (2002-2008)

Fr Gavin was later appointed curate to the Tubber and Rosemount parish from 2008 to 2011.
He then served the role of parish administrator from 2011 before being appointed parish priest of Tubber and Rosemount for a six year period, from 2014 to 2020.

Fr. Tony's Funeral Mass took place on Monday 20th July at 12noon. He was laid to rest in Glasnevin Cemetery.
