Delegates from the Diocese of Meath Participate in National Synodal Assembly
"Is not this what God asks of you?"

Yesterday, eleven delegates from the Dioceses of Meath joined three hundred delegates from around the country for the historic National Synodal Assembly of the Church in Ireland at Gormanston, Co Meath. The meeting focused on the question: “what does God want from the Church in Ireland at this time?” In response delegates, discussed, discerned and expressed their opinion on a wide number of proposals.
Cardinal Mario Grech, Secretary General of the Synod of Bishops addressing delegates from Rome encouraged those present:
“Do not measure the future of the Church simply by what is disappearing. Discern what the Holy Spirit is bringing to birth. Do not simply manage a diminishing ecclesial landscape. Re-position the Church for mission within it.”
