Br. Philip Mc Mahon OFM to be Ordained to the Priesthood

On the Solemnity of Corpus Christi, this Sunday, 22nd June at 3 pm Br. Philip Mc Mahon OFM will be ordained to the priesthood by Bishop Deenihan in St Mary's Church, Navan.

After a period of travel and work in retail, Br. Philip, a native of Navan, entered the novitiate at Killarney in 2016 and made his Solemn Profession in 2023. He has completed his studies at the Angelicum and the Pontifical Bede College, while residing with the community of friars at Collegio Sant’ Isidoro, home to the Irish Franciscans in Rome. He was ordained a deacon on 12th June 2024 at the Basilica of St Paul Outside the Walls, Rome.

Reflecting on his life as a friar, Br. Philip said, “Becoming a Franciscan has been a great experience and I have loved every moment of it.”

Please remember Br. Philip in your prayers.

Lord Jesus, High Priest,
hear our prayers on behalf of your priest Fr. Philip.
Give him a deep faith, a bright and firm hope,
and a burning love for You and Your people.
Through the intercession of St. Francis,
bless him with unwavering trust,
and the confidence to lead with humility, compassion and understanding.
We ask this through Christ, our Lord. Amen.
