Baptised and Sent in Lent - New Synodal Resource
Baptised and Sent

As we prepare to celebrate the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord this Sunday, the Irish Synodal Pathway Team have prepared a suite of resources: Baptised and Sent in Lent. These resources include a new set of weekly prayer and reflection resources for the Lenten season ahead. The Feast of the Baptism of Our Lord reminds us that baptism is the foundation of our identity and mission as Christians. It is from our baptism that we are sent to live the Gospel in our daily lives. In that spirit, these resources are offered now to give parishes, schools, and faith groups time to prepare and plan together before Lent begins.
Lent begins with Ash Wednesday which is falling on 18 February this year. Baptised and Sent in Lent is designed to accompany individuals and faith communities throughout the Sundays of Lent, offering a simple and accessible structure for:
· Prayer and Gospel reflection
· Shared listening and conversation
· Discernment of concrete actions flowing from baptism
Inspired by Baptised and Sent, the preparatory document for the 2025 Pre-Synodal Assembly in Kilkenny, each week explores themes such as belonging, healing, renewal, and mission, helping us rediscover who we are as God’s baptised people.
This new resource can be used with parish groups, schools, pastoral councils, and other ministry teams, allowing time for reflection and planning ahead for Lent.
