Celebrations for Pioneers

Pioneers throughout Ireland gathered in Mullingar last weekend (5-7 April) for the 25th National Pioneer Ball and related activities.

The 25th National Pioneer Ball formally commenced with the celebration of Mass in the Cathedral of Christ the King, Mullingar, celebrated by Bishop Tom Deenihan, followed by the Pioneer Ball in the Annebrook House Hotel.

On the Sunday, local and visiting Pioneers visited the Franciscan Abbey in Multyfarnham for a morning of spiritual reflection. Mass was celebrated in the Friary Abbey, followed by Stations of the Cross in the life-sized Stations of the Cross garden.
