Meath Pilgrimage to Lourdes 2010
The theme for the Pilgrimage is based on the sign of the cross which began the prayer between Our Lady and St Bernadette.
Almost 1,000 pilgrims travelledl to the Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes last year and met with fellow pilgrims from all over the world.
Plans are underway for this year's pilgrimage 12-17 September.

The annual pilgrimage to Lourdes from the Diocese of Meath was
led by Bishop Michael Smith from 12–17 September 2007.
Over 1,000 pilgrims participated in this gathering, including 220
sick people for whom this is a precious moment of healing and peace.

In 1858, Our Lady appeared in person on 18 occasions to Bernadette
Soubirous, a very poor 14-year-old girl from Lourdes. The first apparition
took place on 11th February and the last took place on 16th July. Each
year, 6 million people, from every continent, come to Lourdes. Their
primary purpose is to visit the Grotto of the Apparitions, the place
where the Our Lady and Bernadette spoke with each other, in order to
confide their lives to the Mother of God.
