Kilcormac begins Parish Mission for Lent

The Parish of Kilcormac & Killoughey welcomes St Patrick’s Community to host a Lenten mission from Monday 27 February until Friday 2 March.

The mission is part of the parish’s preparation for the forthcoming International Eucharistic Congress.

The theme of the mission is “to encounter God’s love in a deeper way” and each day has a particular reflection on that invitation:

Monday - God's Love (The story of John Pridmore)
Tuesday - God's Mercy (A chance to meet Jesus personally)
Wednesday - God's Healing (Eucharistic Healing Service)

Thursday - God's Gift of Our Lady (Petitions to our Blessed Mother)
Friday - Mass of the Holy Spirit  (The most Powerful Prayer of the Church)

Masses will be celebrated daily as follows:

Monday until Thursday at 10am in the Church of the Nativity, Kilcormac

Monday until Wednesday at 10am in the Church of St Brigid, Mount Bolus

Evening ceremonies daily at 7.30pm in the Church of the Nativity, Kilcormac.

St Patrick's Community is made up of five individuals who have been leading parish missions and based in Carrick on Shannon for the past 7 years.  They have conducted missions in several parishes in the Diocese of Meath, including Beauparc, Kilbeg, Mullingar, Slane, Taghmon and Tullamore. The Community works in schools and parishes by witnessing to God's love in their own lives and experiences.

It is 4 years since a parish mission was celebrated in Kilcormac & Killoughey. It is hoped that this occasion will “provide an opportunity to get to know the love of God in a new way”.
