Diocesan Appointments 2008

Fr. Patrick Casey, P.P., Carnaross is retiring and will live at ‘Bethany’, Bishopsgate St., Mullingar.

Fr. Lauri Halpin, P.P., Kilbeggan is retiring. He will continue to live in Kilbeggan.

Fr. Barney Maxwell, C.C., Kilbeggan is retiring and returning to live in Empor, Ballynacargy, Co. Westmeath.

Fr. Kevin Fleming, S.S.C., C.C., Dunshaughlin is returning to the community of the Columban Fathers at Dalgan Park, Navan, Co. Meath.

Rt. Rev. Mgr. John Hanly, P.P., D.Hist. Laytown-Mornington is appointed P.P. Carnaross.

Fr. Denis McNelis, C.C., Trim is appointed P.P. Laytown-Mornington.

Fr. Brendan Corrigan, P.P., Kilbeg is appointed P.P. Kilbeggan.

Fr. Michael Cahill, C.C., Batterstown (Kilcloon parish) is appointed P.P. Kilbeg.

Fr. John Cunningham, O.P., Prior of San Clemente, Rome, is appointed C.C. Kilcloon, residing at Batterstown. Fr. Cunningham is on loan from the Irish Province of the Dominican Fathers.

Fr. James Crofton, C.C., Navan is appointed C.C. Dunshaughlin.

Fr. Declan Hurley, Institute Catholique & Chaplain at the Irish College, Paris, is appointed C.C. Navan. Fr. Hurley has served as Chaplain to the Irish Community in Paris and completed his studies for a Doctorate in Theology at the Institute Catholique, Paris.

Fr. Padraig McMahon, C.C, Rosemount is appointed C.C. Mullingar.

Fr. Mark English, C.C., Mullingar is appointed C.C. Dunboyne and Director for Vocations in the Diocese.

Fr. Anthony Gavin, C.C., Dunboyne is appointed C.C. Rosemount.

Fr. Barry Condron, C.C., Castletown-Finea is appointed Diocesan Director of Primary School Catechetics in succession to Fr. Padraig McMahon.

Fr. Janusz Lugowski from the Diocese of Plock, Poland is appointed chaplain to the Polish communities in the Diocese, residing in Navan.
